Five Wonderful Days in Latvia
Latvia is a small country full of opportunities to experience beautiful nature, freshwater lakes, the sea, and cozy little bistros scattered across the country. We traveled to Latvia to unwind and enjoy Ragnar Glamping with its luxurious cabins, as well as to explore Riga, the charming city with old streets and Europe’s largest market. We split our trip into three nights at Ragnar and two nights in Riga.

Stay at Ragnar Glamping
Ragnar Glamp is a unique design hotel with luxurious glamping cabins in the forest near the sea. We stayed in HOUSE LUX PREMIUM, which includes a built-in sauna and a home cinema projector. It’s the perfect destination for relaxation, long forest walks, and sea dips.
We cycled directly from our cabin to the sea for a refreshing ice-cold dip and later enjoyed the private sauna that was part of our accommodation. We also visited the spa area, where we relaxed in a jacuzzi with a glass of bubbly. A 10/10 experience!
Two Days in Riga
After our stay at Ragnar, we drove to Riga and stayed at Konventa Sēta Hotel Keystone Collection. The hotel is centrally located in the old town, making it easy to explore the city on foot.
Experiences in Riga:
Strolling through the old town with its beautiful cobblestone streets
Visiting Riga’s parks and modern urban districts
Exploring one of Europe’s largest markets – Central Market
Café-hopping between the many cozy coffee spots
Dining at Michelin-guide restaurants at affordable prices
We especially loved Kalve Kafferisteri, which serves fantastic coffee and pastries.

Far to the north, where dense forests embrace the whispering sea, Latvia hides a world of magic and adventure. Our journey began deep in the woods at Ragnar Glamping, where we discovered a cabin so cozy that even elves would envy it. With a sauna breathing warmth into the crisp winter air and a home cinema painting dreams on the walls, it became our sanctuary. We rode through the enchanted forest—on steel steeds with two wheels—down to the water’s edge, where we plunged into the icy waves and let the sauna’s heat bring us back to life.
Beyond the forest, we ventured to Kolka, where two mighty seas clash in an eternal dance of waves. We stood as explorers on the shore, feeling the wind carry stories from distant lands, as foamy tides intertwined in a mesmerizing battle.
Finally, we arrived in Riga, Latvia’s proud capital, where cobbled streets whispered secrets of a forgotten time. We wandered through the grand Central Market, a treasure trove of flavors, tasted drinks crafted by the city’s finest alchemists, and found warmth in charming cafés, where the scent of fresh-baked bread wrapped around us like a spell.
Latvia is a land of hidden wonders, where every turn leads to new adventures. Towering forests whisper ancient secrets, rivers carve paths through untouched landscapes, and cobblestone streets echo with history. From golden shores to Riga’s vibrant charm, Latvia unfolds like a timeless tale—one waiting to be told again and again.

Transport:
Car Rental in Latvia
We rented a car from Hertz through Booking.com, which we always prefer due to their service and the option for full coverage. A crucial tip when renting a car in Latvia (and Eastern Europe in general) is to always have a credit card with you. Many rental companies do not accept debit cards, which can either lead to high fees or no car at all.
We chose a scenic route along the coast on our way to Ragnar and a beautiful drive through the snowy landscape on our way back to Riga. Driving through Latvia’s stunning scenery was an amazing experience.

Final Thoughts
Our five days in Latvia were the perfect mix of nature, luxury, and city life. We truly enjoyed switching between the relaxing glamping life at Ragnar and the lively urban atmosphere in Riga.
Latvia is a fantastic destination for those who love the combination of stunning nature, great restaurants, and top-tier relaxation. We can only recommend going and experiencing it for yourself!
